Transportation and Home Services
There are options in Jefferson County to help with transportation when you cannot drive yourself.
THE JEFFERSON COUNTY SERVICE ORGANIZATION (JCSO) is a transportation service available to all residents of Jefferson County, primarily, to and from medical appointments, as well as for shopping and recreation. Hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday thru Friday, anyone needing a ride should call the JCSO office, in Oskaloosa, 785.863.2637 to schedule their appointment.
JCSO also distributes food through federal commodity programs and Harvesters Rural Mobile Food Pantry, plus assists people with application for available programs, loan durable medical equipment, advocate for the people in Jefferson County.

BLASSINGAME HOME CARE offers not only transportation, but also housekeeping and personal care services. Their staff has been thoroughly screened and are fully insured and bonded. The services are charged on an hourly basis, plus a mileage fee. Check with your long term care insurance company for coverage of services.
